The Atlanta Foods International Cheese Shop (opened January 2010) was created to offer fresh cheeses from AFI’s extensive cheese inventory cut to order for cheese programs needing smaller quantities. The inventory available is selected from our most popular cheeses, as well as cheeses representing small artisan cheesemakers from America and around the world. Each order is cut fresh that day, hand packed, and delivered on an AFI truck the next delivery day. This allows our customers to order 1 pound or more of the cheeses needed for their cheese events or cheese selections for that week without having too much inventory on hand. The cheese is cut from its original large format wheel, which is constantly tended to ensure freshness. There are also small format cheeses from our weekly air program that may be purchased by the piece rather than their case pack. These cheeses are also hand selected and packed to protect the integrity of their appearance and flavor profile. Assorted cheese accompaniments round out our cheese shop inventory - including fruit paste, honey, and nuts to compliment your cheese selection. The cheese that comes from our shop reflects the way we feel about our product: it is handled with the utmost care to preserve the cheese as the cheesemaker intended. And we want to make sure it reaches the final cheese lover as fresh and flavorful as the day it left the creamery.
